Disheartened by the limited educational and economic opportunities Laura faced as a young undocumented student, she began her community organizing work while attending UC Santa Barbara. Over the years, in varying organizing and program management roles, she has developed a passion for transformative change. She believes HOW we do mission-driven work needs to start from a place of authenticity and equity. She is particularly interested in creating transformative change by supporting non-profit organizations and social enterprises in facilitating meaningful collaborations, developing strategies to co-create just and holistic working cultures, and aligning organization’s values to their operational processes. Laura holds a BA in Global Studies from UC Santa Barbara and an MBA from Mills College. She loves food, printmaking, and her black cat Lito, among other things.
